BERNIE MARSDEN GODALMING SURREY 18 MAY 2019

BERNIE MARSDEN GODALMING SURREY 18 MAY 2019
For all the trappings of a great guitarist and being in one of the greatest rock/blues band in the 1970s/80 Whitesnake, Bernie Marsden comes across has a really nice guy someone im sure you could spend a long afternoon in a pub with and still be left wanting to hear more.
Bernie seems to have survived all the rock n roll excess , and come out the other side with a smile on his face, even if there still seems to be some issues between himself, David Coverdale and Micky Moody. Both of whom get a mention and having seen Micky Moody several times have issue between themselves to. Still tonight we are here to see and listen to Bernie play and in the first half take questions from the audience. The questions range from joining UFO to Gary Moore, and what are his thoughts on the current Whitesnake in which he gives a fairly honest answer by saying its totally a different band from the Whitesnake he was in, but its good if people still want to go and see them.
On to the music and the first set it just Bernie and his guitar playing among other things till the day I die, aint gonna cry no more, key to the highway and finishing on a Beatles cover of from me to you.
A quick dart out side to sign cds and his book Where's my guitar?. Which he later informs us is about to be reprinted with new chapters and a different cover , so we don't feel to bad  he calls it a collectors edition, thanks Bernie that's made me feel better.
For the second set Bernie is join by a full Band to rock out tunes such as trouble, walking in the shadow of the blues, fool for your loving, and sing a long versions of aint no love in the heart of the city and of course here I go again. Along with that a tribute to Gary Moore in walking by myself and a story about Peter Green before a full rock work out of oh well.
Bernie has said he will be taking a band out on the road later this year for a couple of shows going back to his whitesnake roots and if they are successful expanding it to a larger tour lets hope he keeps to his word.
