Maggie Bell and Dave Kelly SUNBURY 4/10/2019

MAGGIE BELL AND DAVE KELLY SUNBURY 4/10/2019

There are people who you must see once at least in your life, there are also people who get better with age, Maggie Bell being one of them now 74 who's voice and presence on stage are still a wonderful thing to see,and Dave Kelly of the Blues Band  a great blues guitarist . The two of them together served up a feast of blues for a packed crowd at Sunbury . Split into two set they delighted the crowd with a cross section of blues and stories  about Alex Harvey, Led Zeppelin and seeing some of the great old blues players this alone is enough to keep any blues fan enthralled. The first set was made up of Dock of the bay,Take me to the river, a medley of Hi heel sneaker/Bread and butter/Can i get a witness, I just want to make love to you and a stunning version of House of the rising sun Maggie Bell vocals putting some new life in to what can be sometimes an over familiar tune and finishing on a beautiful version of Gulf coast highway.

Set two started with just Dave Kelly singing crossroads and San Fransisco bay blues, this was followed by a good work out of boney maloney , I believe I'm in love with you, a fine version of Respect yourself and Baby what you want me to do before they left the stage to cries of more, sadly they did not return as Maggie Bell was flying out at six in the morning for another gig in Germany, I am sure the crowd would of wished to of seen another hour of these fine musicians still at the top of their game.
