COLIN BLUNSTONE GREYSHOTT FOLK CLUB 24 APRIL 2018

COLIN BLUNSTONE
GREYSHOTT FOLK CLUB
24 APRIL 2018

For a man of 72 you would think he should be slowing down a bit, this is not the case for Colin Blunstone he seems busier now than ever. Having just finished a tour in America with the Zombies he out and about touring the uk. Tonight in a packed village hall that doubles as a folk club, we are about to understand why.

With a great backing band of Pete Billington, Steve Rodford, Eliot Manson, and Manolo Polidario  we are treated to a glorious night of outstanding music. Both set of around 45 minutes are full of musings and hits including  I don't believe in miracles .Any other way, Caroline goodbye a song written about a lost love, which you still feel hurts, but as he says he got a hit from it. What becomes of the broken-hearted a hit in 1981 with Dave Stewart has taken on a more soulful feel and sounds much more true to the original now. the first set finishes on another Motown tune  Tracks of my tears.

The second set it lifted to a higher bar with stunning versions of say you don't mind, and a beautiful chilling to the bone old and wise. The backing band obviously enjoy playing with Colin and it not just a band going through the motions with Manolo Plidario faultless play and interesting collection of guitars adding to the enjoyment. Time of the season  and she s not there bring the show to an end in the only way possible. Thank you Colin for a out standing night of music.
