Sari Schorr
Playing to a
small but select crowd on the last night of a small uk tour, Sari Schorr once
again proves why she is one of the best female blues singers around at the
moment.
With a new
album just out, it was no surprise that over half the set was given over to new
material from Never say never.
Kicking off
with The New Revolution this was a band that meant business from the start,
with no rest going straight into Damn the reason.
Then two
more new song King of Rock N Roll a song about Robert Johnson and Thank You.
Back to the first album for demolition man and aint got no money, before a stunning
versions of Bad Companys/Mott The Hoople Ready for love and I just want to make
love to you.
Kiss me
follows after which the band rock out on two new tracks. Maybe I m fooling and
the Tina Turner sounding Valentina, with Sari in full Janis Joplin mode surely
a song to stay in the set for a very long time.
Never say
never is the title track of the new album a song written by the late Ian
Mclagan. Its such a beautiful song and one
which will grow on you from first listen. Freedom ends the set, before an
encore of Black Betty and Aunt Hazel finish a wonderful night of music.
If you miss
this or any of the other shows on this tour, you miss a Singer and a band at
the top of their game
